El proyecto IMPROVEMENT en la 2º Edición de Electrónica e Ingeniería Eléctrica Virtual

The University of Córdoba (UCO) participated on August 18, 2022 in the Electronic and Virtual Electrical Engineering Edition, presenting the publication “Combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) microgrids in nearly Zero-Energy Building with critical loads under high Power Quality and Reliability requirements, a position paper”: In recent years, many projects have been developed to reduce the energy consumption of buildings, both from the point of view of energy efficiency and the integration of renewable energies. However, few projects are related to the problem of integrating DER in environments dominated by high-tech equipment, the so-called "critical loads": data centers, railway stations, airports and hospitals. The European Interreg Sudoe IMPROVEMENT project aims to renovate existing public buildings where critical loads predominate, converting them into Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB), and to do so integrates combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) microgrids with renewable energy . and other distributed energy resources (DER) such as hybrid energy storage systems (ESS). One year after the end of the project, the partners of the consortium present in this position paper the latest advances of their respective work packages to date.
